Follow
these easy steps below to set up your MAC OS X to the Internet.
1. Click
on the System Preferences Icon at the bottom of the screen.
2. In
the System Preferences window, click on Network.
3. Pull
down the first Configure menu near the top of the screen, and select Modem
Port.
4. Make
sure that the TCP/IP tab is selected.
5. Pull
down the Configure menu in the TCP/IP window and select Using
PPP.
6. In
the Domain Name Servers box, make sure that there is nothing typed in,
if there is anything typed in the box you want to delete it.
7. Under Search Domains , leave that blank.
8. Click on the Save button.
9. Click on the PPP tab (next to TCP/IP).
10. Beside
Service Provider, type GlobalNet.
11. Beside
Telephone Number, enter the appropriate phone number for your location.
(The number should have been either provided to your from GlobalNet, or
you got it from our webpage.)

12. Beside
Account Name, type in your GlobalNet user name ie: johndoe@surfglobal.net.
13. Beside
Password, type in your GlobalNet password which you chose at the time of
signup.
14. Click
on the Save button.
15. To
connect to GlobalNet, double-click on your Hard Drive at
the upper right of your desktop. Double click on Applications, then double-click
on Internet Connect. When the Modem Port window appears, click on the Connect
button.
16. To
disconnect, click on the Disconnect button.
17. To
simplify this procedure for the future, follow these steps:
a. Double-click
on your Hard Drive at the upper right of your desktop and then double- click
on Applications.
b. Highlight
the Internet Connect icon by clicking on it only once.
c. Click
on the File pull down menu and select Make Alias. This will create a new
file called
Internet Connect Alias.
d. Drag
this file (Click and hold your mouse button on the file and move your mouse)
to your
Desktop. When you let go of the mouse button, it will place this icon on
your desktop.
e. You
can now use this icon to connect to the Internet in the future.
